Tools
At xLEAD, we develop research-based tools that translate ideas about leadership, teams, and organizations into practical learning experiences. These tools are grounded in decades of scholarship and are used by educators, leaders, and facilitators to support leadership development at all levels.

The tools below are designed to help people strengthen leadership capability, work effectively across boundaries, and support leadership at all levels of the organization.
x360
A leadership development assessment grounded in the 4-CAPS+ framework.

x360 is a 360-degree leadership assessment based on the 4-CAPS+ model: sensemaking, relating, visioning, inventing, and building credibility. It helps individuals identify their leadership signature and better understand how their leadership is experienced by others.

The tool supports reflection, feedback, and development and is often used in leadership education, executive programs, and organizational development initiatives.
xCHANGE
A simulation for learning how x-teams can facilitate innovation and change.
xCHANGE is an experiential simulation that helps individuals and teams learn how to apply the principles of X-TEAMS to organizational change. Participants practice sensemaking, ambassadorship, and task coordination to convince stakeholders to support their change efforts.
The simulation is designed to support learning about team leadership, innovation, and change in complex ecosystems.

xCARDS
A set of exercises for exploring current and future leadership, team, and organizational patterns.
xCARDS are a flexible, card-based exercise used to surface and examine leadership signatures, team identities, and organizational cultures. They support dialogue, reflection, and shared understanding among individuals and groups.
The exercises can be adapted for use with individuals, teams, or whole organizations and are often used as ice breakers, a way to surface mental models, and to compare current states and future visions.
